ongoing project 2023 -
“geometry of breathing” begun in June 2023. It is a humble project—not metaphorically, but in its consistent, persistent, and unobtrusive presence, akin to the necessity of breathing. It exists as an invisible layer accompanying my main projects and shaping their paths.
The air in this geometry reveals shadow and contamination areas of the primary work, abstracted into geometry to visualise its elusive and obscured aspects. This project gains strength when inviting others to interact with the visualisations. It is a process of evaluation of the work, but the abstraction that geometry provides, creates a less sensitive and a more playful setting, that has the potential to reveal more. The group assesses the visual draft, and they tweak and re-draws the resulting geometric shapes through a series of discussions, exercises and improvisations, using our various artistic tools and resources.
Above: The project’s first iteration (July 2024) appeared as a lecture- performance followed by a discussion and workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
